Image hotspot—see where people click

Show a pack shot, ad, store plan, or UI screenshot and ask respondents to tap the area they like, notice first, or would change. Each click is stored as a point on the image. Response Details shows that photo with the selected marker; Visual Insights overlays every click as a heatmap so creative and UX tests stay visual.

Built for bilingual teams across the GCC and MENA—with native Arabic RTL, regional fielding, and Dubai-headquartered support.

Ask visual questions in the same builder

Add an Image hotspot block next to rating scales, conjoint, or MaxDiff. Upload the asset, write a clear prompt (“Click the area you like most”), and publish. Respondents tap the picture instead of translating what they see into a multiple-choice label.

  • Works for packaging, ads, shelf layouts, and product UI
  • Keep branding and logic consistent with the rest of the survey
  • Optional extra markers when you need more than one tap

See the image and the selected point

Open a single response and the hotspot answer is the photo itself—with the respondent’s click marked on it. Analysts and clients can read “they chose the lens” instead of a coordinate string or a broken object label.

  • One glance for QA, support, and client reviews
  • Coordinates remain available as a text fallback
  • Same Response Details drawer as every other question

Heatmaps in Visual Insights

When you need the pattern across the sample, Visual Insights plots every click on the same image as a heatmap. Dense zones show what draws attention; empty zones show what people skip. Use it in packaging tests, creative pre-tests, and UX findability studies without exporting to a separate heatmap tool.

  • Hot and cold zones on the original artwork
  • All clicks stay on the photo, not a generic donut chart
  • Pair with quotas and Smart Data Layers for segment cuts

Who it is for

  • Creative and media researchersPre-test ads and key visuals with a heatmap instead of a label list.
  • UX and product designersSee where people would tap a screenshot, shelf, or in-store planogram.

Frequently asked questions

What is an image hotspot question?

Respondents click a point on an image you upload—such as a pack shot or ad. Sentink stores that click and shows it on the photo in results, plus a heatmap of all clicks in Visual Insights.

How is a single response different from insights?

A single response shows that person’s selected point on the image. Visual Insights combines every click into a heatmap so you can see attention patterns across the sample.

Can people click more than once?

Yes. You can allow more than one marker when the prompt needs several areas—for example “tap every element you would change.”
